Local Businesses Supporting Local Businesses: Paradigm Coffee

As we begin growing our blog, we want to feature some of our community champions—ranging from volunteers, farmers, foodies, and businesses—that support the local food movement. This month, we will be featuring Paradigm Coffee and Music, a community favorite located kitty-corner from Goodside on 8th St. and St. Clair. Since opening in 2006, it has uncompromisingly emphasized local sourcing.

Paradigm is a progressive hub in the Sheboygan community and was the original home to Goodside during its humble beginnings: the co-op was formerly housed in the back corner of the coffee shop, in fact. Paradigm utilizes fresh, local ingredients, including terra cotta eggs coming from Kellner Backacre in Denmark, Wisconsin. These eggs may appear in many forms—on a bagel sandwich, in a quiche, or in delicious baked goods prepared daily by Sarah Baughman. Paradigm also utilizes local ingredients to craft an array of sandwiches, soups, and bakery items. (Find their delicious menu here!) Sourcing local also means sourcing seasonally, and Paradigm integrates a kaleidoscope of seasonal offerings with rustic staples, producing goodies like the savory mushroom and feta biscuits featured in these photos.

Paradigm also showcases Wisconsin dairy from various small local farms. But it also proudly carries milk alternatives such as oat, almond, soy, and coconut. As the only vegetarian restaurant in Sheboygan, diversity and relevance are abundant throughout the shop. Paradigm is able to offer an eclectic menu, accommodating most dietary restrictions: this includes gluten free and vegan options to cater to diverse customer demands. Rather than reinventing, Paradigm matches traditional ingredients with creative and effective substitutions to bring you bakery and sandwiches that are uncompromising in values and delectable in taste.

You can visit Paradigm:

Tuesday - Friday 7:30 am - 9:00 pm

Saturday - Sunday 8:00 am - 9:00 pm.

Stop in and be inspired by how Paradigm uses ingredients from the co-op!
